About Evelyn Pickering
Evelyn Pickering has been a part of BARA since the spring of 2012 and is currently a Research Specialist. As a member of Dr. Richard Stoffle's ethnographic research team, she has participated in multiple studies with American Indian tribes in the Midwest and Southwest regions. Most of these assessments address environmental impacts on cultural resources. In the fall of 2014, Pickering earned her M.A.from the School of Anthropology at the University of Arizona. Her thesis was titled "the Social Construction of Water in Dominica, and how it has Influenced Use and Exportation." This Independent research investigated cultural connections to water resources; prehistorically and contemporarily; in relation to local perspectives of bulk water exportation and experiences of climate change in Dominica. BARA has made significant contributions to Pickering's education and experience.
