Niger Resilience and Agribusiness Master’s Program (N-RAMP)
The USAID Niger Resilience and Agribusiness Master’s Program (N-RAMP) is a 5-year (October 18, 2023-October 17, 2028) $6.9-million activity. N-RAMP’s vision is to create a vibrant agribusiness sector that is an engine for both resilience and inclusive, agricultural-led growth supported by a fit-for-purpose educational system and workforce in Niger.
The purpose of NRAMP is to strengthen the human and institutional capacity of Nigerien public universities to design and deliver academic coursework leading to a Master’s Degree in Resilience and Agribusiness.
The project goal is to develop high quality training and education in agribusiness by Nigerien public universities that is tailored to the opportunities and challenges in Niger’s complex risk environment and responsive to the needs of both students, particularly women and youth and Niger’s agribusiness sector.
The N-RAMP activity will strengthen Faculties of Agriculture and Faculties of Management in Nigerien public universities to improve the quality of the student experience and the quality of undergraduate coursework, developing new graduate-level coursework, providing instructional staff with professional development in both content and pedagogy, increasing the quality of university agriculture research, strengthening university-community linkages, and increasing women’s and other marginalized populations access to graduate degree programs. While focusing on agribusiness, it is the intent that N-RAMP will improve the quality of partner HEIs and the Nigerien higher education system as a whole.
