Students from BARA and SoA Attend Kaibab Paiute Powwow

Faculty members, student interns, research assistants and post-doctoral researchers from the Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology and the School of Anthropology traveled north to attend the annual Kaibab Paiute Sounds of Thunder Mountain Powwow on August 15 and 16. Along with enjoying the dancing and drumming, the students, researchers, and faculty member Dr. Diane Austin helped prepare and serve the Saturday afternoon feast. The trip also included stops in Flagstaff and at the Grand Canyon. Students learned about history and people of Northern Arizona and got to know fellow interns they will be working with in the upcoming semester.
